1/2     cup cornmeal

       1/2     cup flour

     11/2     teaspoons salt

     11/2     teaspoons chili powder

       1/2     teaspoon dried oregano, optional

       1/4     teaspoon pepper

           1     broiler/fryer chicken, cut into pieces

       1/2     cup milk

       1/3     cup butter, melted


Combine the first six ingredients. Dip chicken pieces in the milk, then roll in the flour and cornmeal mixture. Place in a greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish. Drizzle with butter. Bake, uncovered, at 375 degrees for 50-55 minutes or until chicken is done and golden brown.
