1 Cup butter
1 3/4 Cup sugar
4 eggs
1 Teaspoon vanilla
1/2 Teaspoon almond extract
3 Cup flour
1/2 Teaspoon salt
1 1/2 Teaspoon baking powder
1 Can cherry pie filling

1 cup vegetable oil

2 cups flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 can cherry pie filling

3 tablespoons sugar


Beat eggs until light and fluffy. Add 1 cup sugar and mix to incorporate. Add oil and beat. Combine flour, baking powder and salt; add to egg  mixture and mix well. Spread 1/2 the batter into a greased 9 by 13-inch baking pan. Cover with pie filling and then the remaining batter. Sprinkle with the 3 tablespoons sugar and a dash of cinnamon. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-45 minutes or until cake tests done. May drizzle with icing when cool.
