1 Pound Italian sausage, cooked and drained
1 Tablespoon dried basil
1 Can (12ounce) tomato paste
1 Teaspoon garlic powder
1 Can (28 ounce) diced tomatoes, including juice
3 Cup cottage cheese
1/2 Cup Parmesan cheese
3 Tablespoon chopped parsley
1/2 Teaspoon pepper
1 Teaspoon salt
2 eggs, beaten
1 Pound shredded Mozzarella cheese
1 Package (10-12 ounces) lasagna noodles


Cook the first five ingredients together for half an hour, stirring occasionally. Cook lasagna noodles in boiling water until tender; drain and rinse. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining ingredients except for the Mozzarella cheese. Place half of the noodles in a 9 x 13-inch pan, and layer half of the cottage cheese/meat mixture. Then layer half of the Mozzarella cheese. Top with half of the meat sauce. Repeat the layers. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes. Allow to stand for ten minutes before serving.
