4 small apples

1 tube crescent rolls

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup white sugar

1/2 cup brown sugar

1 cup water

1 teaspoon vanilla

Peel, core and halve the apples. Wrap a crescent roll around each apple half and place in a greased baking dish. Bring butter, sugars and water to a boil. When sugars are dissolved, remove from heat and add vanilla. Pour over the dumplings. You may also sprinkle some white sugar over all. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until apples are tender.
